Nanomaterials fascinate me because their surface energy and structure changes greatly impact their chemical reactivity, catalyst performance, and more. I make nanomaterials in Ryan Richards’ research group and enjoy discovering why specific morphologies have been created in a synthesis. My undergraduate research consisted of modeling TEM images of Pt on ceria to estimate nanoparticle dynamics. My graduate research is focused on synthesizing 2D materials and nanosheet oxides.
