The U.S. Department of Energy announced the opening of its Solar Decathlon, a collegiate competition which inspires young people toward a clean energy future and “prepares the next generation of building professionals to design and build high-performance, low-carbon buildings powered by renewables”. There are 10 contests in total, including Architecture, Engineering and Embodied Environment. Teams must excel in all ten contests to win.

To learn more about the competition, join DOE for a virtual Ready, Set, Solar Decathlon Event on September 16th. All interested students and faculty are welcome to attend to get an overview of the entire competition.
